GRAND PRAIRIE, TX — Cameras on a Texas highway happened to point in the direction as a dump truck exploded into flames after crashing into a median.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver of another vehicle stopped in the middle of newly opened tollway lanes and was heading in reverse. A fast-approaching dump truck swerved to miss the car and slammed into the center barrier.
The truck hit the wall so hard, the front end of the cab was completely knocked off the mounts. A stream of flames went from beneath the truck for yards behind.
The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The dump truck driver was not injured.
