On September 11 Rev. F. Antony Ilijn, new head of the Office of the Representation of the Patriarchate of Moscow to the EU, paid a visit to the Metropolitan to discuss ways of further collaboration of the two Offices in the context of the European Institutions.
On September 16 Rev. F. Ladislav Bily, secretary of the Orthodox Metropolitan Synod of Slovakia, came to visit Metropolitan Athanasios in order to get to know the work of the Representation of the Church of Greece in Brussels and report back to his Synod the role of Orthodox Churches in the dialogue with the European Union.
On September 17 H. E. Bishop Cyprian, Assistant Bishop to H.B. the Patriarch of Romania, visited the Metropolitan in order to announce the imminent appointment and coming to Brussels of a representative of the Patriarch of Romania to the EU and ask for a closer collaboration with him in order to further common values and principles inspired by the Orthodox tradition for building Europe.
